I’m proud to announce Women Outdoors have teamed up with Women’s Aid.

Women’s Aid is a grass routes federation that provide women with life-saving services and build a future where domestic abuse will not be tolerated.

Sadly recent reports show the rate of domestic abuse cases has not decreased since 2009 and is still increasing every year. The most depressing findings is the rate of men’s fatal violence against women in the UK is between 124 and 168 per year, that is more that two ladies killed every week by their current or former male partners.

Women Outdoors will be facilitating a hiking event in the Peak District once a month for the women who are staying at the local refuges. The project will provide boots, waterproofs, transportation and any other essentials for the ladies to get out into nature.

Thank you to YHA, Cotswold & EMA who are supporting the project and have funded the events up to early 2024.

We are not asking for donations, but ask if you could please share this post. The more engagement we have on this project the better chance we will have in gaining brand funding and sponsorship to cover the remaining costs of the project.

Thank you in advance for your support and contribution in helping Women Outdoors support as many women as possible with their physical and mental wellbeing in the great outdoors.

Emma xx
