Join Women Outdoors for an unforgettable hiking and yoga adventure in the heart of Norway’s wild beauty.
Discover Rondane, Norway’s oldest national park, where pristine wilderness takes you back in time, and choose between a challenging hike or a more moderate hike through Jotunheimen’s dramatic landscape of waterfalls, jagged peaks, and untamed beauty.
We’ll also unwind with yoga on Norway’s own ‘Bahama beach’—a serene, white-sand escape surrounded by nature—and take a refreshing wild swim in the emerald river for the ultimate cold-water reset. And no trip would be complete without a scenic road trip to the world-famous Geiranger Fjord, a breathtaking landscape carved by ancient glaciers.
For those who want even more adventure, there’s the option to go white-water rafting or to take on the thrill of climbing the Via Ferrata with expert guides.

This trip has been graded moderate to challenging. On the main hiking day, there are two route options: a challenging hike for those looking for a bigger adventure, or a moderate hike for a slightly gentler pace. This is why the overall trip is described as moderate to challenging, giving everyone the choice to match their comfort and fitness level.
For more information on our grading click here. You will also find incline and milage information for each day in the itinerary below.

Day 1
Pick up at Otta train station, stopping at the supermarket to shop groceries before heading to our accommodation (6 miles from the train station)
A 3-course dinner is served in the authentic fireplace lounge from the year 1747.
Day 2
7am-8am: Breakfast buffet. Make sandwiches for lunch.
8am:
We drive towards Jotunheimen National Park to take on the Knutshøe hike. Towering 1,517 meters above sea level, this 7.9-mile loop gives you breathtaking views of the emerald-green Gjende river, and you’ll even pass a sandy beach along the way. At the summit, you’re rewarded with sweeping views of Besseggen, Besshø, Gjendevann, Bukkehåmaren, and Surtningssue.
Part of this route includes a scramble section, and we’ve therefore graded it as challenging. For those who would prefer a gentler option, there’s also the choice of a moderate hike on the other side of the lake – still offering stunning scenery, but at a lighter pace.
4,30pm: Back at accommodation & relax.
7.30pm: We serve a 3-course dinner.

Day 3
8am-8.45am: Breakfast buffet. Make sandwiches for lunch.
8am: Small/light hike to Slåberget (rated moderate), the peak right behind our base. The hike takes about 2,5 hrs to the top and 1,5 hrs down. Once at the top you will have a beautiful view over most of Rondane National Park and some of Jotunheimen.
The fun part about this trip is the possibilities for you to climb about half the hike in the Via Ferrata. This is optional and those who don’t want to climb will meet the climbers halfway to the top. The price for the Via Ferrata is about £80 per person. Click here for more information.
2pm: Back at accommodation & relax.
4pm: Yoga-session at the “Bahamas Beach”. Local beach next to the river just a 15 minutes walk from our base.
7.30pm: We serve a 3-course dinner.

Day 4

7am-8am: Breakfast buffet. Make sandwiches for lunch
8am: Road trip to Geiranger and the beautiful Geiranger fjord. The bus ride takes about 3 hrs one way and goes through very different landscape, from east, inland Norway to the west and coastal areas.
There will be several nice places to stop for photos and small excursions. On our way back we will stop for dinner at a local authentic restaurant and we will also have a look at the Lom stave church. Lam Stave church is a wooden church built in 1160 and is now used as place of exhibition (currently has a large selection of paintings).
Before getting back to our accommodation we will stop at the super market for groceries.

Day 5

7am-8am: Breakfast buffet. Make sandwiches for lunch
8am: We drive towards Rondane National Park where we will do our last moderate hike of the trip. The national park is Norways oldest and is one of very few places where we could see wild reindeers!
4pm: Possibilities for joining afternoon rafting, about £75 per person.
7.30pm: Back at base our accommodation. Relax before we serve a 3-course BBQ dinner.

Day 6
8am to 10am: Breakfast buffet.
Within 11am: Check-out.
11:30am: Transfer to Otta train station to Oslo Airport.

“Norway has been one of the best weeks of my life! I decided to come on this trip and step out of my comfort zone, I feel I have really made some friends for life from this trip! I have done so many new things this week, tried new foods, and laughed more than I have ever laughed. Emma and all of the team have been understanding of people limits, but have all gone completely out of their way to do everything to make our experience the best it could be.
Me and some of the other girls are already discussing which trip we want to go on together next! I can’t wait for our next adventure!

EXCELLENT Based on 35 reviews Posted on Jenna StylesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just had the most incredible trip to Morocco. Thank you Women Outdoors UK for creating an itinerary that just kept on giving and for bringing together a group of amazing women to share this unforgettable experience with. The organisation was seamless and there were too many ‘pinch me’ moments to describe in one review. If you’re considering this trip, you wont regret booking it.Posted on Victoria WoodallTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Went on my first abroad trip with women outdoors for a Norway winter adventure and I was not disappointed! It has been an absolutely amazing week! The food and accommodation has been above and beyond and the activities were such fun 😁 🙌 memories will last a lifetime! The ladies on the trip were all so lovely and friendly, I came ‘solo’ but never once felt I was on my own. If you’re thinking about doing a trip abroad, just book it, you won’t regret it! Thank you Emma xxPosted on Joanne IronsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Norway winter adventure. Wow, what a trip. Packed with ‘firsts’, things I never dreamt I would do. The trip was so well organised and Emma’s energy for us all to have the best experience was infectious. A great group of ladies at different stages of life, from different backgrounds formed a special friendship. This is my third trip with Women Outdoors. I’ll definitely be doing more.Posted on Antonia McGraneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Another well organised hike, lead by our excellent ML Julie. First event I have attended through them, paddleboarding at Carsington Lake. It was a fab day and everyone was really friendly. Booking was super easy and you get all the info you need beforehand, and opportunity to ask questions too. Really good experience, will be booking with them again - thank youPosted on Joanne SykesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have done a few walks and trips with Women Outdoors. I started with light hikes in my local area, then moderate hikes to build my confidence. More recently, I have travelled to Slovakia and Norway. Both trips have been amazing! From the logistics, to the travel arrangements, accommodation and communication. The guides and hosts on the trips have been incredibly supportive, sensitive and encouraging. I have done things I never imagined I would do and met so many amazing and inspiring women.Posted on Claire DivallTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic experience! Would throughly recommend. The trip was well organised and it was great to share the experience with such a lovely group of ladies. Our guides, Bryony and Christel, were amazing. Really supportive and encouraging and a lot of fun. Looking forward to booking another trip soon.Posted on Alison DobsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really enjoyed the map and compass navigation in Edale. Understand the map more and finally get the compass would definitely recommend 😄Posted on Chandrima RodrigoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wow, what a trip! I've just returned from Norway after a week of amazing experiences that included hikes in National Parks offering breathtaking views, to picking wild blueberries, to sailing past beautiful fjords waterfalls, to river rafting with water splashes and adrenaline rushes, to chatting and discussing about the day's activities over a lovely evening meal in a now converted but 13th century farmhouse, to taking a bite of the best cinnamon bun! Travelling solo I met everyone for the first time, but the group created a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, where all were made to feel welcome. There was something special about sharing this experience with a group of like-minded ladies. Thank you Kate our Womens Outdoors host, and Camilla, Honza from Sjoa for the great organizing and guiding, not forgetting Maya and Christian who were a part of some experiences. Photos do not do justice to the spectacular views but sharing a few.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
