Come and join us hike up the highest peak in the Peak District! This circular walk takes you from the pretty village of Edale to the beautiful moors of the Kinder plateau, the highest point in the Peak District.
This route will give us the experience of walking a section of Pennie Way national trail, as it is the Pennine trail which takes from Edale up the famous ‘Jacobs Ladder’ (a bunch of stairs!). From here we will be within the beautiful Kinder Scout Nature Reserve until we reach the trig point.
Our decent will take us along the top Kinder with spectacular views of Edale valley & the western edges of the Peak District. We will continue passing Crowden Tower & Grindslow Knoll until we reach Edale again, stopping for a drink in the pub and heading home!
All of our hiking leaders hold the relevant qualifications and have heaps of knowledge on the plants, landscapes and history of our national parks. Emma will create a WhatsApp group before the event providing all the information you need and you ladies can also use the group to organise car share and get to know each other.

EXCELLENT Based on 53 reviews Posted on Google Helen LawsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was quite nervous about doing a thru-hike with a group of women I didn’t know, but I needn’t have worried! It was an amazing experience with supportive, kind, generous, funny and patient women with whom it was a privilege to walk Hadrian’s Wall. Our trip leader Megan is a true heroine - we could not have finished the 84 miles without her expertise, encouragement and guidance. The trip and our achievements are up there with the things that I am most proud of in life, and at 61, that’s saying something! I can’t recommend Women Outdoors highly enough - it has done wonders for my confidence and I hope that I meet the ladies again in future hikes! Truly brilliant.Posted on Google Paula MossTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great experience and would highly recommend Women Outdoors. A really enjoyable experience- challenging, but still manageable. Our guide Laura was considerate of everyone’s needs and also extremely knowledgeable about the area and geography/geology in general.Posted on Google Lauren ATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend the navigation course set in Edale! A great way to meet new people through a shared experience - brilliant day learning the basics of map reading and using a compass to navigate. A real sense of satisfaction learning a new skill and putting it to use!Posted on Google Jen AkhurstTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
