Moderate

Level: Beginner
Distance: 3-5 miles
Elevation: Maximum 300 metres (985ft). Mostly flat with some steady incline
Duration: 3 hours or less
Fitness & Experience: These hikes are great for those that have little or no outdoor experience, or for those that would prefer a lighter, relaxing hiking trip
Pace: The pace will be nice and slow with plenty of stops

Level: Moderate
Distance: 5-8 miles
Elevation: 300 to 500 metres (985ft to 1640ft). These hikes have some steady, gradual incline (not steep)
Duration: 3-5 hours
Fitness & Experience: These hikes are great for those that have some experience with walking outdoors and would like to try some hill walking.
Pace: The pace will be nice and slow with plenty of stops

Level: Intermediate
Distance: 5-10 miles
Elevation: 300 to 700 metres (985ft to 2300ft). Intermediate hikes either have more incline than the moderate level or they have a comparable incline but with steeper sections. They may even have some loose stone or rocky terrain under foot rather than a well defined path.
Duration: 3-6 hours
Fitness & Experience: These hikes are great for those that have experience with walking outdoors or have a reasonable level of fitness.
Pace: The pace will be nice and steady with plenty of stops

Level: Challenging
Distance: 7-15 miles
Elevation: 700 to 1500 metres (2300ft to 4920ft). There will be some steep incline and they are likely have some loose stone and rocky terrain sections under foot rather than a well defined path
Duration: 5-8 hours
Fitness & Experience: Challenging hikes are great for people with who have half days outdoor walking experience or who have a good level of fitness.
Pace: Medium pace with plenty of stops

Level: Very Challenging
Distance: 15+ miles
Elevation: 1500+ metres (4920ft+). The inclines will be steeper and are likely to have some loose stone and rocky terrain sections under foot rather than a well defined path
Duration: The duration of the day will be either 10 hours+ or long multiday hikes
Fitness & Experience: Challenging hikes are great for people who have experience with full day hikes or who have a good level of fitness.
Pace: A steady pace with fewer stops
